Heather Williams - Love Your Body Beautiful

Who am I...

I'm an entertainer and have been performing from a young age. Everyday after school I was at the dance studio taking ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre or piano lessons. Once I graduated high school I began teaching dance to skaters, synchronized swimmers, and dance students. I also had performing contracts with Butchart Gardens and Spirit of the Nation, which were summer shows.  I attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts which involved dancing, singing and acting. After graduation I accepted a contract with Sixties Mania in the USA, which was a band that impersonated musicians from the 60's and 70's. I then landed my dream job dancing and singing for the inaugural year of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. 7 1.2 months into my contract in July, 2001 a taxi hit me. I acquired a traumatic brain injury and spent 9 weeks in a coma at Osaka National Hospital.

What I did about it...

After I was stable enough to endure the flight home to Canada, I was admitted into Vancouver General Hospital. Due to 9/11       I was prematurely transferred into G. F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre, which was a blessing in disguise, as I was thrust into therapies early. After discharge from the Rehabilitation Centre I sought out 'Heather's Therapy'. I took Pilate's, dance, singing and acting. I was disheartened with the physio I was receiving so I created my own rehabilitation and recovery routine derived from my knowledge of Yoga, Pilate's and dance. From past experiences I knew that journaling and meditation are helpful healing tools so I added them into my rehabilitation. I also do cognitive exercises daily to keep my brain alert.

How it's changed my life...

Now, over 19 years later through my choses of recovery I have surpassed doctors' prognosis.

Let me guide you on a beautiful healing journey
I'LL SHOW YOU HOW.
